Assam toxic alcohol deaths: 99 people die in a north-eastern Indian state

99 people have died and more than 100 are ill and being treated at a local hospital after drinking illegal alcohol in the state of Assam in India. Medical staff believes this toxic substance is causing organ failure in these individuals. As of now, an expert team is testing the substance to figure out its contents. This is not the first time that death has resulted from the sale of illegal alcohol in India.
