The Guardian–
Scientist have recently discovered a number of heat waves in the oceans, which is destroying swathes of sea life. Research has shown that these heat waves are becoming increasingly frequent, with heatwave days tripling in the recent years. This has resulted in the loss of kelp forests, seagrass meadows, and coral reefs. These species are essential for ocean wildlife, providing food and shelter. The damage caused to underwater plants also takes a toll on humanity, which relies on the oceans for food, oxygen, and other essentials. For the full article on ocean heat waves, click here.
