WKYC: Summit Co. Public Health Qarns of Alarming Increase in Hepatitis Cases
A news outlet in Ohio has reported that there has been a very notable increase in the number of Hepatitis A cases this year, with 19 of 32 cases being linked to the nationwide outbreak. Summit County Public Health has noted that there is an increase in the misuse of drugs within this outbreak of Hepatitis A, which they believe indicates that the disease is circulating through the population of Summit County. Hepatitis A is transmitted through contact with an infected person or through contaminated objects such as food. Symptoms include yellowing of the skin or eyes, stomach pain, nausea, fatigue, fever, and darker urine.
