According to the CDC, the number of reported Measles cases is continuing to soar in the United States reaching 555 cases in 2019 thus far. In one week alone 78 new cases were reported in New York, Washington, California, New Jersey, and Michigan. Interestingly, more than half the overall cases were reported in New York City and may be due to the high population density. According to the World Health Organization, in the first three months of 2019 cases tripled globally compared to 2018.
