CNN: More deaths have been associated with kratom than previously known, CDC study finds

Kratom, a drug taken for people experiencing opioid withdrawal, has just been reported by the CDC to cause many more deaths than previously expected. The drug is seen to have pain-relieving effects, but at a much lower level compared to opioids.
