Hepatitis A infections increased by nearly 300% over two years, report says

Hepatitis A is a vaccine preventable disease of the liver. The disease has increased 294% between the years 2016 and 2018. In rare cases, the infection can cause liver failure and even death. The outbreaks have been associated with contaminated food items, sexual transmission, people using drugs, and homeless people.
