Venture Beat: Lyft lays out its disaster response plans

Rideshare apps like Lyft and Uber have global operation centers that monitor the world for crisis situations, paying particular attention to how their role as rideshare services plays into the larger picture of disaster response. Lyft recently published its disaster response plans as one of their blog posts. When there is a disaster, some of the ways Lyft plans on responding are: ensuring the affordability of ride prices, providing free ride codes, providing transportation services to first responders, and directing users to additional useful services.
