NPR: Behind The Scenes of CDC’s Vaping Investigation

The cases of vaping related lung issues caught the attention of CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Having taken on cases related to the Zika virus, SARS, and 2001 anthrax attacks, the scientists at CDC are now determined to determine the cause of the outbreak so that the public can be informed and warned as soon as possible. The incoming flu season and difficulty gaining access to overseas data about the outbreak are obstacles that are keeping the study from gaining momentum; however, much of the research is currently in the works and the scientists are working hard to keep this situation under control.
