CNN: A heat wave in Antarctica melted 20% of an island’s snow in 9 days

Over the past 9 days Antarctica has been suffering a major heat wave which melted almost ¼ of the snow cover on Eagle Island. The hottest day in Antarctica on record was this month at 64.9 degrees Fahrenheit which was also the same temperature as in Los Angeles. Even though the heat wave only lasted a little over a week, it contributed the most to sea level rise in Antarctica for the whole summer. Click here to read the full article.
