NBC News: ‘Covid tongue’ may be another coronavirus symptom, British researcher suggests

According to Tim Spector, a professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College London, there has been an increasing number of COVID-19 positive patients who complain of tongue discoloration as well as a range of mouth ulcers. Approximately 35% of COVID-19 patients experience non-traditional symptoms during the first three days of disease onset, which oftentimes go unnoticed. The new symptom does not necessarily mean that the mouth is vulnerable to the virus. However, it may be that the presence of the virus might be eliciting responses in the form of infections similar to that of herpes.
