NPR: Fauci says COVID-19 won’t go away like smallpox, but will more likely become endemic

At the recent World Economic Forum’s Davos Agenda, Dr. Fauci made some comments on the future of COVID-19. He said no one knows how exactly things will play out, but considering smallpox is the only disease humans have completely eradicated, he is confident COVID-19 will not be the next. Dr. Fauci also remarked on the possibility of a less dangerous variant of COVID-19 becoming an endemic similar to flu.
