Risa Canonizado

Risa Canonizado is a fourth year Biology major and Asian American Studies minor at UCLA. With a passion for community health, she has worked extensively with volunteer organizations APA Health Care, Pilipinos for Community Health, and Team HBV to provide health care access in underserved communities throughout the Los Angeles area. In addition to connecting communities with affordable services, she enjoys educating the public about hypertension, diabetes, Hepatitis B, and the importance of regular screen for breast and cervical cancers. Canonizado was motivated to join EPICenter LA by her desire to combine an interest in global affairs with a passion for community connctedness. In her role with the project, she researches the best practices of sister cities and performs mulitple roles related to building and maintaining the website.
