CNN: Skyrocketing teen e-cig use erases recent declines in youth tobacco use

There has been a 1.3 million increase in teen tobacco users since 2017, and public health experts are blaming the teen vaping epidemic. This increase is so large that it nullifies any recent declines in youth tobacco use. Among all tobacco products, e-cigarettes, or vapes, were the ones used most commonly by teens. The e-cigarette giant, Juul, has become extremely popular among youth for its aggressive marketing strategies and flavored nicotine pods. A single pod has the equivalent amount of nicotine as in a pack of cigarettes.
