The ‘disease’ on track to become a bigger killer than cancer

A new man-made “disease”, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), has led to an increase in superbugs that already kills more than 33,000 individuals in the European Union every year. The drugs used to treat the disease are becoming less effective (by definition). According to officials, this new disease can kill more individuals than cancer by 2050.
