Polio is a highly infectious viral disease that is primarily found in children, especially those without vaccination. This disease frequently leads to paralysis, and in some cases death. This disease is considered on its way to eradication, however a new polio-like virus has recently arisen. More than 150 cases of acute flaccid myelitis are being investigated by the CDC. There is no vaccine. Like Polio, this disease is rare and is prominently found in children. Symptoms of this disease include loss of muscle tone and weakness of muscles.
