The Baltimore Sun: Johns Hopkins University sees outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease

The Johns Hopkins University has reported a disease outbreak that has sickened at least 129 people at its Homewood campus in North Baltimore. This highly contagious viral disease can cause fever and the formation of rashes or sores in the mouth hands and feet. The disease can be spread by close contact with those who are infected or through aerosolized particles after sneezing or coughing.
