The New York Times: Two-Factor Authentication Might Not Keep You Safe

921

In this opinion piece, Josephine Wolff exposes the lack of evidence behind the newest cyber security trend- Two Factor Authentication. There is little research done that evaluates and quantifies the effectiveness of TFA, yet the momentum to implement this specific cyber security tactic into the infrastructure of all websites is unparalleled. Wolff says that it seems as if companies and account owners are implementing TFA because they seem other companies doing it and it may seem like “the right thing to do”- even with little evidence to back their claims. In short, TFA is not full proof. In fact, it is leaves the accounts still hackable. To read the whole opinion piece by Wolff click here.
