Social media platforms are full of fake news and misinformation that can cause serious consequences like mask rejection. Macaquarie University’s development team has created a model of algorithm in pursuit to reduce the spread of fake news. The model identifies user’s reading interests and shifts their choices of reading towards verified ‘true’ news. Current methods of inhibiting fake news are not working, as a 2021 study writes that 82 percent of adults surveyed have experienced misinformation about Covid-19. For the full article, click here.
