JEMS: Missouri EMS Service Converts Old School Bus into MCI Ambulance

1,166

With multiple casualty incidents becoming a common phenomenon, the Missouri EMS system has developed a unique solution to combat the difficulty of suddenly transporting and treating dozens of patients. A school bus has been converted into an ambulance with the ability to transport 12 patients to the hospital simultaneously. The ambulance contains all the necessary emergency medical supplies and is fully outfitted with a central oxygen supply. This MCI ambulance is designed to transport moderately or mildly injured individuals while a traditional ambulance will continue to transport the most critical patients. To read more about the new MCI ambulance, click here.
