This week, a health worker in the Democratic of the Congo, working against the ongoing Ebola outbreak, was killed by villagers. There has been continued violence surrounding this outbreak, with more significant hostility toward the teams focused on the burial on those who have died from Ebola. Part of this may be that the burial protocols are designed to prevent others from being infected and those practices do not incorporate traditional funeral practices. The WHO noted that local politicians may be creating a negative sentiment toward the health workers there.
