Futurity: How to provide cancer care in a natural disaster scenario

Physicians that provide cancer treatments to patients depend on many resources such as electricity, clean water, and clear methods of communication. Patient treatment plans may have a clear and defined schedule for radiation therapy, but a new paper published in Practical Radiation Oncology calls to attention how Oncologists can prepare and recover a disaster with regards to their patients’ treatment plans. This work a result of lessons learned from 2017 Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
