UCSF: Red and White Meats are Equally Bad for Cholesterol

A study recently published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that consuming white meat, such as poultry, is equally as bad for elevating blood cholesterol levels as consuming red meat, compared to consuming plant proteins. Both types of meat raised LDL cholesterol to similar levels; meanwhile, non-meat proteins such as from vegetables and legumes appeared to be beneficial.
