 A recent study shows that microplastics, shorn from human products and carried by global trade winds, are now accumulating ubiquitously worldwide. Found trapped within the arctic snows, our tap water, the atmosphere, and our bodies, a tiny sniff of a spring breeze could result in thousands of tiny microplastics trapped within your stomach. Yet, the human health risks are still very poorly understood. Scientists are now calling for urgent research into the health impacts of microplastics once they are inside the human body.
