NBC News: Trump rollback could leave waterways vulnerable to pollution

The Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ended federal protection for water ways, decreasing the types of water ways that could receive federal protection from pollution under the Clean Water Act. The new rule will allow farmers and oil developers to work on wetlands and waterways that became protected under Obama’s administration. Creeks and rivers that run after rainfall or snow, serving as the sole water source for many dry states in the West, are threatened by the rollback.
