Baghdad blocks US missile defenses after Iran strike, Pentagon chief says

The Pentagon wants to deploy Patriot missile defenses, a surface-to-air missile system, to Iraq to provide protection against the recent Iranian ballistic missile strikes. This missile defense system would help ward off the kinds of ballistic missile strikes that heightened the tension between the US and Iran earlier this month. However, the government in Baghdad is not granting the US Pentagon permission to do so.
