CNN: FDA approves first drug to treat peanut allergies in children

The new drug, Palforzia, is a drug approved for use in children between 4-17 years old that minimizes the severity of a child’s allergic reaction to peanuts. The treatment works through controlled dosage increases in roughly a six month period. Anaphylaxis can occur at anytime, but especially during the initial up-dosing.
