US News:Israeli Phone Apps Aim to Track Coronavirus, Guard Privacy

Known as Hamagan, Israel’s new government produced phone app is an open-source, voluntary and security protective surveillance app designed to notify users if they have crossed paths with someone who has tested positive for the illness caused by the novel coronavirus. It alerts people whenever they become too physically close to someone else, and it can also track down not only the geographic places visited by a person who later tests positive for COVID-19, but also which individuals they were closest to. It is believed that this app will be incredibly helpful in maintaining some degree of social distancing as the pandemic wanes and workplaces begin to open again.  Read the full article here.
