NPR: Pandemic And Protests Spark Record Gun Sales


First-time gun owners seek background checks as they believe the pandemic and peaceful protests cause harm to them. As older prisoners that are labeled not dangerous and are near the end of their sentence are released, Mandy Collins expresses her fear of “the lack of arrests”. More than 3 million guns have been sold from the beginning of the pandemic. A former ATF agent recalls previous increase in gun sales to be directly correlated to an increase in accident deaths.
