NPR: Public Health Officials Scramble To Do Contact Tracing After Trump Tests Positive

Following President Donald Trump’s COVID-19 diagnosis on early October 2nd, members of the White House have also been testing positive for the virus. Contact tracers are having difficulty determining Patient Zero for this particular outbreak of infections due to the various places Trump had traveled to during the incubation period. Trump visited various states including Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and more. In addition, Trump and his administration are notorious for ignoring social distancing guidelines and mask-wearing recommendations, making public health officials worried about how many other individuals may be infected outside of the White House and suggesting that daily testing is not enough to monitor infections.
