NYT: At Elite Medical Centers, Even Workers Who Don’t Qualify Are Vaccinated

Elite medical centers affiliated with Columbia University, NYU, Harvard, and Vanderbilt are vaccinating staff members who do not have any interactions with Covid-19 patients before vaccinating patients and high risk individuals. The CDC recommended vaccinations are administered to health care workers who interact with Covid-19 patients, residents and staff of nursing homes, people 75 and older, and certain essential workers. However, many hospitals are allowing all staff members to be vaccinated before the other priority groups. In addition, some hospitals don’t have strict policies to check if people are in these priority groups, so it is easy to give false information.
