According to the MWD, rates show that we use 125 gallons per day per person. In order to save in large numbers, it is necessary for each person to use 80 gallons per day. Officials are focusing on lowering outdoor water use. MWD is requiring suppliers to limit watering times, in fact some agencies have already limited sprinklers to run for nomore than eight minutes. Just the limit on sprinklers would allow for significant savings in water supply because sprinklers can amount to as much as 70% of the residential use of outdoor watering accounts.
