BBC: Twitter ends Covid misinformation policy under Musk

Twitter has announced that they will stop flagging tweets and suspending twitter accounts for COVID-19 misinformation. Twitter previously had a COVID-19 specific “five-strike” system for accounts spreading”demonstrably false or misleading” content that could potentially “lead to significant risk of harm”. Using this system Twitter suspended over 11,000 accounts for COVID-19 misinformation from January 2022 to September 2022.
