Los Angeles Times: COVID-19 outbreak hits CDC epidemiology conference

The CDC’s four day Epidemic Intelligence Service Conference was held in Atlanta in April and resulted in 13% of attendees later testing positive for COVID-19. Masks were optional for everyone, and nearly ¾ of survey respondents said they did not wear any face covering during the conference. There were no hospitalizations as a result of the infections and nearly all survey respondents reported having received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
