Researchers were able to utilize machine-learning and artificial intelligence to find molecules that were able to act as an antibiotic to pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii. This specific pathogen impacts people with weakened immune systems, and can take over hospital settings, according to the CDC. The researchers saw that abaucin, a compound that perturbs lipoprotein trafficking, had promising results, although limited.
