Equifax just admitted to sustaining a massive cybersecurity data breach in late July. As one of the largest credit reporting agencies in the United States, this data breach affects approximately 143 million people, nearly half of the entire United States’ population. Sensitive information such as names, birth dates, social security numbers, credit card numbers and other key identifiers were obtained in this cyber attack. Equifax has concluded its own private investigation and is now collaborating with state and federal forces to continue probing for more information about the breach.
