Hyatt Hotels Announces Data Breach March-July 2017

Hyatt Hotels announced this week that they discovered and investigated a data breach to customer card information during the months of March to July of this year. Multiple locations across multiple countries were affected by the hack, including some of Hyatt Hotel’s United States locations in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Guam. The hotel company announced that they are taking steps to prevent a similar data breach from occurring in the future. However, the hotel chain has previously faced a problem with cyber security with a similar data breach of credit card information in 2015.
