Puerto Rico Investigates Post-Hurricane Disease Outbreak

Even after the storm has passed, Hurricane Maria’s
devastating effects on Puerto Rico have been relentless. 10 People
have come down with suspected leptospirosis (Weil’s Disease).
According to the CDC, “Weil’s disease is a bacterial disease spread
through the urine of infected animals.” The disease is spreading
quickly due to the lack of clean water throughout the island.
