Forbes: What Is The Cause Of This Salmonella Outbreak? Looks Like Kosher Chicken

Presently, a Salmonella outbreak has occurred in multiple states, with a possible source being Empire brand Kosher chicken. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that at least 17 people have Salmonella infections throughout New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, with one death. It is believed that there are others infected, however they have not officially sought medical care. Symptoms include diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps for four to seven days. The CDC advises that people do not stop eating Empire brand chicken, but continue taking the normal cooking precautions when handling raw poultry.
