A mass drug overdose was reported inside of a Chico home that left one dead and sent more than a dozen to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. Fire Chief Jesse Alexander described the incident as the largest MCI (multiple causality indent) he has seen. Over 6 individuals were undergoing CPR simultaneously and 6 doses of Naloxone, a drug used to reverse the effects of opiates was administered to patients. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, 12 were hospitalized, and two officers were also transported to the hospital due to exposure to the drug at the scene. To read more about the incident, click here.
