Why Japan’s Radioactive Water May End Up In the Ocean

TEPCO is planning to dump radioactive water enough to fill 400 swimming pools into the Pacific ocean. Although it is reported to have been “treated”, neighboring countries are not happy with this plan of action. Many fishermen are also worried about fish being affected and posing as a health hazard. Reportedly, these waters contain less than 1msv of radiation, whereas on a regular basis people are exposed to 2.4msv per day.
