Will there be a second wave of coronavirus?

The recurring patterns of flu pandemics lead to an increasing concern that COVID-19 will demonstrate a similar pattern. Recently, Singapore, Germany, and China are seeing evidence of a resurgence in the infection rate despite their early actions handling the outbreak, demonstrating COVID-19’s ability to return with equal if not stronger force. Scientists suggests that these infections grow resistant when the safety measures and treatments are mishandled or exhausted. Combinations of public protests and the need to reopen economies are trying the social and political consensus on lockdown measures. The threat will decline when a vaccine is created and distributed, or when the infection rate fall below a certain threshold, yet these two scenarios are unlikely to occur in the near future with a vaccine still months away and studies producing uncertain numbers for infection rates.
