Hurricane Laura struck Louisiana on August 27, 2020 with incredibly high wind speeds, rainfall, and storm surges. Amongst the destruction from the national disaster, a chemical plant that produced chlorine-based products caught on fire, releasing toxic chemicals into the air, and leading to a shelter-in-place order.
