A new coronavirus variant, first discovered in the UK, is slowly, but steadily making its way around the globe. A new study, conducted by the Imperial College London, suggests that the higher transmissibility of the variant is likely to also put those under 20 years of age at risk. Early analysis indicates that the variant has a higher propensity to infect children, but more profound research needs to be made to establish its true nature and trajectory.
