U.S. News: Twitter Cracks Down on COVID Vaccine Misinformation
With over 500,000 dead from the Coronavirus, it is critical to vaccinate as many people as possible in order to achieve herd immunity to prevent more deaths and to allow life to return to normal. As of today, 3 vaccines in the US (Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson) have been granted emergency use authorization by the FDA and according to some surveys, millions of Americans are reluctant to vaccinate. This could be a result of the spread of misinformation on various social media platforms like Twitter. In response to this, Twitter has stated Monday that they have started using human reviewers to assess tweets that spread COVID vaccine misinformation.
