 The Brazilian variant may lead to reinfection and is more contagious than the original Wuhan strain. There have been at least 15 cases of the Brazil variant in the United States, with a large possibility that many cases have gone unidentified. Recent studies have shown that the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA vaccine is effective against the Brazil coronavirus variant.
