Eric Adams, mayor of New York City, develops a new public safety prevention plan, releasing a “Blueprint to End Gun Violence.” He mentions that the root of the cause should be targeted, which would begin with the youth and allow for “a better path long before they pick up a gun.” The blueprint outlines various strategies, including three big strategies focusing on the involvement of the NYPD, such as enhancing officer patrol in order to remove illegal guns in the city. The second big strategy is to further develop the Crisis Management System which currently has inefficient government bureaucracy. Lastly, the blueprint emphasizes opportunities for young people, launching a Summer Youth Employment program and other.
