The United Nations estimates that more than one million refugees have fled Ukraine in the past seven days due to Russia’s bombardment of cities across the country. Residents have stated that there is a severe shortage of food and medicine, especially insulin. The European Union has decided to grant temporary protections for the refugees, and the United Nations World Food Programme has started an operation to provide food assistance to Ukrainians.
