Researchers Found That The RSV Virus and the Influenza Virus Are Capable of Forming a “Hybrid Virus”

Researchers found out that two different viruses, influenza and RSV, fuse together to form a new virus instead of competing with each other. Additionally, they found that the hybrid viral RSV and influenza particles were able to evade influenza antibodies. Because this is extremely uncommon, researchers are unsure how this could impact the human respiratory system upon infection.
