CBS: First locally-acquired case of dengue virus discovered in Pasadena

The first case of dengue virus that is not associated with travelling has been detected in California. This virus route of infection is through mosquito bites, and it includes fever-like symptoms as well as excessive bodily pain, bleeding, and rashes. It is not contagious through humans, but is spread through mosquitoes. Dengue fever requires hospitalization, since there is a small chance it can evolve into internal bleeding and death.
