California Department of Transportation Proposes AI Tools to Decrease Traffic Jam Occurrences

California transport agencies want to use the power of AI to decrease traffic, as outlined in an executive order signed by Governor Newsom in September. The transport agencies proposed that AI could analyze traffic and transportation data from California roads and brainstorm ways to reduce traffic jams. The proposal highlights the risks and benefits of introducing AI as a tool in state government.
